Welcome to

Nikita Bencharov’s homestead

Our family is pleased to invite you to the island of Olkhon, the largest and the only inhabited island in the Lake Baikal. For over 20 years we, Nikita and Natalya Bencharov, have hosted tourists from all over the world at our homestead.  As a family, working together with others, we provide care and attention that others do not. Guests are welcome all year round. Located in the village of Khuzhir, our homestead is just a 5 minute walk from the famous Burkhan Cape and it’s beautiful sandy beach. The air and water are pristine, and the sun shines more than 300 days a year. Watered by occasional summer showers, our homestead comes to life with greenery and flowers from July until September frosts

Clear night skies overhead with stars you’ve never seen before; tender breezes from Baikal, spreading the scent of wildflowers; songs by the campfire; attention and politeness, nice friendly folk from all over the world, – it all makes people come here – again and again.

Our homestead is located next to the Lake Baikal. Some rooms have views of Lake Baikal and the famous Shamanka Rock.

Banya and Massage

Our partners are ready to offer you banya, a real Russian steam bath with birch brooms. Massage is available upon request.

Food

We offer a wide range of homemade meals. There is also the cafe Bistro Français with desserts on site.

Contemplate the beauty of the island and of the lake Baikal during beautiful trips through the natural landscapes.

Homestead and Catering

Accommodation

We offer accommodation in typical Russian wooden houses. Although the rooms are usually for two people,  triple/single occupancy is possible. See: Rooms and Rates.

Food

The basis of our cuisine consists of dishes from fish, meat and vegetables. We may surprise you with dishes of Baikal fish! This includes fish solyanka with olives, fish baked with various fillings, tender cutlets – all this will greatly expand your idea of traditional Siberian cuisine. Such food will increase the mood and give you strength for an active holiday on Olkhon. In Bisrto Français there is a selection of fresh pastries with coffee and tea. You can also order fish on rozhnah, smoked fish or shish kebab. Usually, breakfast lasts from 8:00 to 10:30. Lunch is from 13:00 to 16:00 (optional). Dinner from 18:00 to 21:00. In the hall, there is always clean water for drinking, as well as hot tea or coffee. Breakfast Buffet is included in the price.
